1. Introduction

minico ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Statement explains how we handle your information when you use our on-device AI assistant application ("App").

Core Principle: minico is designed as an on-device AI. Your conversations with the AI are processed entirely on your iPhone and are never transmitted to our servers.

2. On-Device Data

The following data is stored and processed exclusively on your device:

  • Conversations: All chat messages and AI responses are stored locally using SwiftData and never leave your device.
  • User Profile: Your nickname and preferences are stored locally on your device.
  • AI Model: The language model runs entirely on your iPhone's hardware. No conversation data is sent to external AI services.
  • API Keys: All authentication credentials and API keys are securely stored in the iOS Keychain.

3. Optional Third-Party Services

If you choose to enable integrations, the following data may be shared with third-party services:

  • Brave Search: Search queries are sent to Brave Search API to retrieve web results. Brave's privacy policy applies to this data.
  • Google Calendar: Calendar event data is exchanged with Google's servers when you use calendar integration. Google's privacy policy applies.
  • Microsoft To Do: Task data is exchanged with Microsoft's servers when you use task management integration. Microsoft's privacy policy applies.

These integrations are entirely optional. The App functions fully as an AI assistant without enabling any third-party services.

4. Data We Do NOT Collect

We want to be clear about what we do not do:

  • We do not collect or transmit your conversations
  • We do not collect usage analytics or telemetry
  • We do not use your data for advertising
  • We do not sell your personal information to third parties
  • We do not have access to your AI conversations

5. Data Storage and Security

All conversation data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. API keys and authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain, which provides hardware-level encryption. Conversations are soft-deleted and automatically purged after 30 days.

6. Your Rights

Since your data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

  • Delete individual conversations at any time within the App
  • Remove all data by uninstalling the App
  • Revoke third-party integrations at any time in Settings
  • Export or view your data through the App interface

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Statement

We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the App or posting the new Privacy Statement on our website with an updated "Last updated" date.
